perhaps the difference in national coverage is due to the difference in the positions held. Being the Mayor of Racine (population 80,000) is a bit different that being a US senator or representative.

Living in WI, I can tell you for a fact that the local media (I live in the Milwaukee market) did their best to cover up Becker’s political affiliation. The reason… Mayor is supposed to be a “non-partisan” position, which is the reason they wouldn’t report it. But as soon as it happened, the local blogosphere and talk radio were all over the fact that political affiliation was not mentioned, which equals Democrat.

And just a note to all you 50+ deviants who get off on kiddie porn… No matter how much you want it to be true, there are NO 14 year old girls out there looking to have sex with you. You would think that NBC’s TO catch a predator and all the stories of stings of just this nature would have taught you that.

After this last election cycle, the media strung up the rope and placed its own head in the noose. They sold their credibility with the country in order to get the Democrats back in power (not that the Repubs put up much a fight), and every man, woman and child whose head isn’t firmly impacted in their own buttocks knows it, regardless of party affiliation or beliefs. Why should we be surprised that they’ll continue to protect their favored party now, they’ve got nothing to lose. Perhaps they’ll even get a bite of the bailout to offset all of the hard times they’re going through…
