Fine, then cite a story that actually illustrates your point. But don’t equate these people with Barack Obama and the entire Democratic Party.

I think you are missing my point, probably because I spend a lot of time monitoring the nuts on the left at places like the DU, Kos, Crooks and Liars, etc. So many of them are virulently anti-Christian, and want ALL Christian religion removed from Government, and even from public life.

Religion in politics and religion in government are two very different things, Teach. But this isn’t even an example of either one those. It’s just religion in the public square.

It is tradition to hold a prayer services at the National Cathedral during the inaugural events. They are not mandatory and I have never heard of people on the “left” complaining about them so I fail to see the hypocrisy.

But the problem, Silke, is that the Left has been trying to get religion out of everything, and, in particular, government. Isn't it hypocritical of them now be pushing religion at government paid for events?

Teach said: Funny how the Left is finding no problem with mixing religion and politics now, eh?

Why would they? Our country has a long-standing tradition of mixing religion and politics. In fact religion has shaped some of this countries most important struggles - freedom from a monarchy, abolition, the expansion of the rights of women, civil rights, etc.

I think you are confusing it with the problem of mixing the church and governance.
