Unfortunately, I can see the will of the people of California being thwarted again. The anti-Prop 8 folks will find some judge or folks in the legislature who will blow them off.

I think it is funny that Dems and libs are all for "democracy" until said democracy doesn't vote the way they want. Then its mob rule.

Gabriel Malor, over at Ace's, has a great breakdown on the anti-Prop 8 crowds arguments to void Prop 8. Unfortunately, they don't hold water, mainly because Prop 8 was not a new law, but a Constitutional Amendment that the Supreme Court of California just can't void. Allowing a Supreme Court to void legally passed amendments to their governing documents is not a precedent you want to be set, because then the constitution doesn't amount to a hill of beans.

The gay marriage movement went the route of the courts to force their lifestyle upon the citizens of California. The citizens of California were thwarted by the state courts in California everytime they tried to legally fight back. So when the anti-Prop 8 crowd is thwarted by a majority of the citizens of California, well, them's the breaks.

Impeach Jerry Brown...

When your obligation under the state constitution is to defend the laws of the state -- and any constitutional amendments passed by the people of your state -- your duty should be pretty clear. Unfortunately, California Attorney General Jerry Brown......
