Think about it. Rudolph is physically deformed and ridiculed by his elders and his peers until through some fluke of fate, they end up needing to exploit his deformity for their own gain. And what does Rudolph get as a result? Social acceptance? Monetary reward? No, nothing. He gets to lead Santa's sleigh. oooo, big deal! Where is the ACLU and the Americans with Disabilities Act when you really need them. What a wonderful children's story! Of course, even though I grew up in NJ, it was at the Shore, which has always been a good "red" area, and people just have too much too do there, what with the ocean and stuff.
