Teach said: And, yes, I agree that we were going thru global warming, mostly natural.

But what is the “mostly natural” cause? You need to provide a specific cause (i.e. we are significantly closer to the sun, the sun’s output has increased substantially, etc.) and provide the evidence for it.

Also, since you agree that greenhouse gas emissions affect the climate why is it you don’t believe CO2 is having an effect? Yes methane is 21 more times effective at trapping heat than CO2, but there is far less of it in the atmosphere. CO2 accounts for around 85 percent of America’s greenhouse gas emissions versus 8 percent for methane. And methane’s atmospheric lifetime is 12 years versus between 50 and 200 years for carbon dioxide.

"Let’s do something about landfills, one of the biggest outputters of methane, a dangerous greenhouse gas."

The company operating several landfills here in western PA have developed methane capture systems and are burning it to generate electricity. It's a good start.
Several other companies have built "co-generation" plants that produce power and industrial steam using coal waste harvested from old coal mining refuse piles. The removal of the coal refuse allows land to be reclaimed and reduces acid mine drainage into the region's river system.
What I find fascinating about all this is these companies are doing their part to improve the environment, but they are doing so in the interest of turning a profit. Imagine that.
