I can understand not supporting someone after they have made so many mistakes that you have lost confidence in them but to do so in anticipation of them making their first seems disingenuous given your earlier comment.

As was stated above... when did the left give Bush such a pass? He was on the hot seat from the minute he won the 2000 election (and he did WIN, he wasn't appointed).

Barry will get no such pass... he ran on the premise of being experienced and not needing a learning curve if elected, so I'll be there when he f's up, just like I was with Bush when he did something I didn't agree with. I respect the office and unlike the lefties of the last (8) years, I am not going to oppose everything the O-Man does, but when he decides to break some pledge or promise (as I am sure he will with his tax cut/welfare check program, nad make no mistake, it WILL happen)I'll be there to point it out so that everyone who was snowed by his empty rhetoric will be reminded of their decision to make this guy the leader of the free world.

You’re only going to support him until he screws up? Of course he’s going to make mistakes. He’s human. President Bush has certainly made his fair share. I can understand not supporting someone after they have made so many mistakes that you have lost confidence in them but to do so in anticipation of them making their first seems disingenuous given your earlier comment.

…to show that we are better then the Left, and not moonbats

Shouldn’t you do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do – not because you want to look better than someone else?

I definately understand where you are coming from. We should give him some support till he screws up, to show that we are better then the Left, and not moonbats. He will surely give us reason to go after him on policy by Jan 21.

The sentiment of "Let's give him a chance" and "Until he screws up he IS the president", however in line with the patriotic and pragmatic ideals of conservatism, are COMPLETELY out of line with reality. When did the left ever give G.W.B. such a pass? Further, when did the concept of bipartisanship for the sake of the best interests of the country ever evidence itself in the words and deeds of the democrats? Not for the last twenty elections at best.

I warn true conservatives, following down the road of "me too" which the RINO's have been treading is the path of destruction. Moderation and the abandonment of conservative ideals is what gave us John McCain, as well as our recent defeat. The aggressor sets the rules in any contest. Eagerly letting the Democrats set the rules by which we are allowed to compete and by which we may present our ideals is folly.

Socialism and virulent anti-Americanism is now at the helm of our nation and cooperation by conservatives is just that-cooperation with socialism and virulent anti-Americanism.

Appeasement is appeasement by any other name. A "spirit of cooperation" means only one thing to the Pelosi/Reid/Obama junta when it is coming from the Republican party or the conservative movement which it claims to represent: Weakness.

It is the conservative reasoning that our 'adversaries' operate on the same principles we do. They don't. We continually fail to understand it because it doesn't make sense. When you seem faced with an impossibility or a contradiction remember one of the precepts of critical thinking: There are no impossibilities only a mistaken PREMISE.

Whatever the mindless sheeple of the Left think they voted for, be it justice, equality, or a free ride, the leaders KNOW their ultimate goal is the end of American exceptionalism, the implementation of a paternal state of tyranny on the rights and individuality of Americans, and the eternal power of the failed Marxist ideologies of the past.

Our goal cannot be cooperation and bipartisanship, not if we hope for any success. Cooperation is acquiescence, and expecting ANYTHING from the leftist cabal now in power except further erosion of our nation is delusional.

I didn’t realize there are some already calling for him to be impeached. Wow!

I really do hope people give Obama a chance. I like what he said in his speech last night:

Let’s remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House, a party founded on the values of self-reliance and individual liberty and national unity. Those are values that we all share. And while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress. As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, we are not enemies but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too.

Thank you, Silke. People should at least give him a chance. I was a little annoyed by some talk of impeaching him and an impeach obama website I say before the east coast polls had even closed.

Teach said: If you want to attack Obama, do so, but, do it on the issues.

I couldn’t agree more – especially after all the talk in this election of Obama being a “terrorist” or a “Muslim.”

So, congratulations, President Obama, you have my backing till you prove otherwise, but, good or bad, you are the President.

Well said, Teach.
