I’ve watched and watched, and read and read, and analyzed and analyzed; I honestly do not believe he meant it as an insult to Palin. But the man should have followed up with something to ensure that he wasn’t. It is a simple thing to do, something that should enter your mind. I’ve decided I’m no longer going to comment on it anywhere, he has bigger issues that concern me.

On a another note; I really enjoyed his interview with O’Reilly. I was able to view him in a different way, which I really appreciate because I want to be fair. I still won’t vote for him. There actually might have been a slim chance if he wasn’t an arrogant, empty suit followed around by the incessant pep squad of the loony left and the MSM.

The laughter it invoked is obvious. Surely you’re not that naive Silke. I’m all about processing this without any bias. When you speak as much as he does, things slip. But the pig followed by the fish does make me curious as to what he meant. BO has proven himself to be a race-baiting sexist incapable of stringing more than three words together without an “uh”, “you know” or “now hold on a minute”.

I was very fair to BO early on, but his multiple gaffes, questionable friendships and flip-flops has made me believe he’s a danger to this nation.

Of course you can criticize Obama, but it should be for something he’s actually done – not a perceived slight.

I watched the video and I read the text of what he said. Reasonable people will give Obama the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately the McCain campaign isn’t being reasonable. They already have an ad up about this. How disappointing.

If the reference is so common, Silke, why haven’t we heard Obama use it before? Interesting how you are upset with McCain for responding to the ugly comment of Obama, rather then being upset with what barry said. Are we no longer allowed to criticize Barry?

I would give Barry the benefit of the doubt if he had done the honorable thing and just said “woops, I goofed, sorry.” He says he wants to run a clean campaign, yet, he does stuff like this, and the more I watch the original video, the more it looks like he was trying to make a joke, but, he has no timing, and got serious about it. This will haunt him for at least a week.

Watch the vid, Silke. He takes a nice little pause for what he knew would be either applause or laughter, or both.

I have given him the benefit of the doubt on this Silke, but his audience took a different meaning than it’s original intention, and he ran with it.

I’d be a little bit more concerned about what was said before that. He almost quoted verbatim, a political cartoon that was in a paper a few days before that speech. Dude’s gotta get his script from comic strips now? Pleez.

The “lipstick on a pig” reference is common – especially among politicians on the trail. McCain has used it several times as well. This isn’t just a case of taking something out of context it’s making stuff up. The fact that the McCain campaign is now using this to manufacture outrage is so disappointing. I really thought he was better than this.
