An eight hour planned outage while moving one server turned into over 12 on seemingly all servers. No status messages, no updates, nothing.
Fuckwits.
Most of the saved posts I had are gone, too. All but one. Everything else looks OK, though.

I started to go with Dreamhost but then figured I’d stick with GoDaddy for the time being since I know their system. Once the blog gets some traffic I’ll start to think about moving it. But I guess not to Dreamhost. LOL!
I am checking with 2 other WordPress hosts that do auto installs. Want to know if they do auto-upgrades and a few other things.

Yeah, you’ll only make that mistake once. Personally, I’ll never pay more than 3 months in advance for hosting again (no matter what kind of discount is offered). I learned my lesson on that one with some outfit that took me for 6 month worth of “premium” hosting and then a few days later shut down no warning at all. Pffft.
They’d been pretty good, a few ugly downtimes now and then. I think what was the worst was that they did not let anyone know any updates.
