Silke, the statement is an exercise in thought. I know my opinion, and I reckon I have relayed it hundreds of time over the years on his blog.

As far as being quiet, went to a Christmas Party last night, and was a busy busy bee during the day.

What did you mean by this statement, Teach? You have been unusually silent.

Who cares what extremists think or how they justify their actions with their own twisted logic. I just find it strange that you think their actions should influence our opinions in any way. I can still respect Muslims who live their life in peace and do not impose their beliefs on others – right?

That’s your interpretation. I know there are good Muslims out there. I personally wish individuals such as Dr. Aslam Abdullah, or Wafa Sultan would get more media play. They (extremists) CHOOSE to show us violence, it is their version of fear-mongering. In the meantime good Muslims are scared to speak out for fear of reprisal against their own, rather than the enemy. Had I been a good Muslim in that mosque when it was attacked by Al Qaeda, I would speak against these monsters. Wait, they allow women in mosques?

And the latter part of his statement referred to Islam as a whole. Extremists are defined by their actions. This has no bearing on whether we should respect the religion of others. It’s a non sequitur.

Tell your friend in Singapore to do a little more than privately decry the violence. He needs to get out there, along with all the peace loving Muslims I keep hearing about and put an end to the acts of the Islamists once and for all. If he doesn’t act he may well be tared withthe same brush as they.

We must gain for our cause peaceful Muslims (I have a friend in Singapore who belongs to that group). They hate the Muslims who kill ther persons in the name of their own religion. And the key is spreading democracy, even if weapons must be used, as in Irak.

Might as well ask, if some people do not respect life why should we? The answer is obvious.
