And, yes, the earth was scientifically proven to be round. Which is more then can be said for man made global warming, which relies on those deep scientific words like “likely.”

Scientifically this was disproved over 2,000 years ago by Eratosthenes. To compare a lack of knowledge among the general populace to modern science is absurd. You are only revealing your own ignorance on what science really is when you keep making this statement.

By the way, your post and the article it is base on are highly misleading. No one on either side of the debate would disagree that reason and science should guide decisions, but that does not mean the Pope denies anthropogenic warming. In fact Vatican City became the first fully carbon-neutral state in the world this year.

You have to do a lot of interpretation to read an anti-climate-change message into the text. I think the Pope might be surprised by this whole discussion.

John Ryan, yes, I do believe Man is having some influence, particularly in the realm of agriculture and ocean pollution (that would be a very long explanation.) But, climate change is mostly natural.

Demonethes, consensus does not make something real. Remember, at one point the consensus was that the Earth was flat. Interestingly, there really is not a consensus, no matter how many times you climahysterics repeat it.
