When I was a young airman in 1979, I remember our embassy falling in Tehran. We thought Carter would get our American hostages released soon. I went overseas to West Germany and never felt more embarrassed to be an American until after 444 days – when the Iraniacs released our hostages to the minute Ronald Wilson Reagan was being sworn into office on January 20, 1981! When they landed at Ramstein AB Carter had the gall to meet them. We laughed at the shameless Carter – big time. Democrats – except for JFK and FDR – are WEAK on national defense, and I used to be a democrat.
