Teach, look at the specifics of the lawsuit. Under the Freedom of Information Act U.S. citizens may request that federal government agencies disclose certain records. That’s what the case is about. If, in the process of obtaining that information, the public becomes more aware of the consequences of our actions in Iraq (good and bad) – how is that a bad thing? Again, as a former soldier who actually processed some FOIA requests, this is not seen by the military as anything but a U.S. citizen exercising their rights by law. I’m confident the military has nothing to fear here.

Misguided muslim youth are trying to kill Americans again. Its perfectly understandable, of course, they have a profound hatred for American citizens. We must have been just awful to them....

Faultline, there are a few that try, but they are too fragmented to take on the ACLU. Unfortunately, we conservatives are just not good at sheepleing along.

Silke, the civilians the ACLU is attempting to protect are Iraqi's, Afghani's, and all the others that are at G'itmo. Not American's. Furthermore, they do have an ulterior motive. There is no valid reason for an organization which is supposed to protect American rights to ask for that information, other then to use it to smear the military, Bush, and America.

No complaint, Ogre, they just wanted to do their liberal thing, of course.
