Liz Edwards Needs To Smack The Silk Pony

Remember when Elizabeth was all bent out of shape over Ann Coulter’s remarks about Breck Girl, and called into Hardball?

EE: I’m calling you … in the south when we — when someone does something that displeases us, we wanna ask them politely to stop doing it. Uh – I’d like to ask Ann Coulter — if she wants to debate on issues, on positions — we certainly disagree with nearly everything she said on your show today — um but uh it’s quite another matter for these personal attacks that the things she has said over the years not just about John but about other candidates — it lowers our political dialogue precisely at the time that we need to raise it. So I want to use the opportunity … to ask her politely stop the personal attacks. (snip)

EE: I’m asking you politely to stop personal attacks.

Maybe she should talk to her husband. Maybe blindside him with planned call while he is in an interview (doubt Silky would do as well as Ann, though)

ABC News’ Rick Klein Reports: Former Sen. John Edwards on Friday fired the latest round in his ongoing verbal feud with Ann Coulter, calling her a "she-devil" at a public event before quickly adding that he shouldn’t engage in name-calling.

"We know these people. We know their game plan. They’re going to attack us personally," Edwards said. "They attacked Elizabeth personally, because she stood up to that she-devil Ann Coulter. … I should not have name-called. But the truth is — forget the names — people like Ann Coulter, they engage in hateful language."

Uh huh. He couldn’t even call Ann a "she-devil" forcefully, instead going all wimpy. Figures.

Of course, based on his ratings, he appears to be trying to create a parachute to stop that free fall. He has no ideas, no plans, just hyperbole, so trying to feud with Ann is apparently all he has. And when Ann responds (I hope she ignores him, though it is always enjoyable when she rips someone like Edwards), will Silky hide under Liz’s skirt again, leaving the strong stuff to Liz?

And, of course, the always civil DUmmies are chiming in.
