In the eary 19th century, over 32 million immigrants legally migrated to the U.S. from Europe through Ellis Island, NY. They were welcomed, scrutinized, prodded, identified, registered and screened medically. If they failed they could have been DEPORTED! They were checked for TB, leprosy, favus, and trachoma viruses...
Am I getting somewhere with this deal?

Couldn't agree more, Nathan. I wonder if the states and locals will have the cajones to use their 10th Amendment rights?

The president is completely out of touch with the American people, and unfortunately, so are quite a few Republican lawmakers. If the federal government refuses to address our lack of border security, it may be up to local and state authorities to crack down on illegal immigration by punishing businesses who hire illegal immigrants.
