It’s difficult for us Southerners in that sense, isn’t it! I always heard that Southerners started Memorial Day. I think if people knew/thought that there would probably be an outcry to quit celebrating it.

Well, the South lost so the history of it is written from the Northern point of view.

PS Blackbeard: Frau Vader is from Germany and her parent’s side fought for the German Army in WW I and WW II. They were in the German Army and Navy, not the Waffen SS nor Gestapo. Our second home is in the Palmetto State and I’ll admit that GRAY is a proud color and nothing to be ashamed of. The blue staters can’t stand the fact that Miss America and USA 99.99% of the time hail from a RED STATE. Happy Memorial Day weekend and GOD bless the airman and troops in Harm’s Way – past & present! Freedom isn’t free and thank-you for your blog and patriotism sir.
