Teach, the sun is the source of our warming. In that sense, it does have an influence on global temperatures. However, it stays constant. What climate scientists are concerned with are temperature anomalies. These changes in temperature are mostly due to changes in the concentration of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, which absorb infrared radiation, thereby trapping in heat (amplifying the sun’s effect).

Teach, the sun can have an influence – but in this particular case the sun is being carefully monitored and it’s not the reason. Even the articles you cite in this post don’t support your claim. Can you explain that?

Just because Bush says something, doesn’t mean I agree with it. I do no follow him blindly on every issue like liberals follow their leaders. Bush is a disgrace when it comes to illegal immigration and spending, and I disagree with him on global warming.

Why can the sun have no influence on global temperatures? Folks who believe in global warmining as caused by man continue to fail to address that.

I guess it’s all a matter of who you trust.I trust scientists; ofcourse they could have an agenda but to assume that would be to give up on ever getting an answer…who else can you ask about climate change that a climatologist?My link is to a video by the american association for the advancedment of science it states the views of the overwhelimng majority of scientists.

Not according to the MIT article you cite:

“Jay Pasachoff, an astronomy professor at Williams College, said that Pluto’s global warming was “likely not connected with that of the Earth. The major way they could be connected is if the warming was caused by a large increase in sunlight. But the solar constant–the amount of sunlight received each second–is carefully monitored by spacecraft, and we know the sun’s output is much too steady to be changing the temperature of Pluto.””
