Didn't the Democrats say they were going to put in new ethics rules which would include reducing the power of lobbyists to influence the government? Many in the Nutroots arena think that there should be law restricting lobbyists completely. Yet, here's Nancy Pelosi cavorting with union representatives
Labor union representatives, liberal leaders, and aides to House Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) met yesterday to begin work on a broad lobbying push to promote Pelosi’s 100-legislative-hour agenda with a campaign expected to mimic the one that helped defeat President Bush’s proposed reforms to Social Security.
Borosage predicted that as many as 100 groups would ultimately participate in the initiative and that it would be broader than the campaign against Bush’s plans for Social Security.
Representatives from AFSCME, AFL-CIO, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, Americans United, a labor-funded advocacy group, and a slew of progressive groups — including USAction, ACORN, Campaign for America’s Future, and MoveOn.org — attended the meeting.
In fact, besides this being a showcase of liberal lobbyists and union representatives, the meeting shows that the Democratic House leadership is going to push a far left agenda. Consider USAction, whose president has written for and supported the newspaper of the Communist Party USA.
Not that we didn't know that the House Dems were going to be pushing "San Francisco Liberal" values. Perhaps doctrine would be a better word then values, considering that values is linked with morals, and morals is linked with religion, things that liberals are devoid of, and hate.
