Beth, that “power” thing has been their excuse for 5 years: “we’re not in power, so why should we have plans?” In reality, they do not want to announce their plans, because they would not play well in Peoria. Abortion on demand, the Nanny state, high taxes, as Scrapiron said, the whole “one world” thing, etc.

The gutless democrats are full of excuses and BS. That’s about all there is to them. Now Barney Frank is proposing the first step of the democrats planned One World Government (Drudge Report) and the United States will not be a the top nor an independent country when they’re through. Selling the country and future generations down the drain doesn’t seem to bother them.

I heard Howard Dean on TV this morning saying that ‘when’ the dems win the house that they won’t have the power to take the troops out of Iraq.

The interviewer persisted in asking him what the dems would do since they had been so vocal about getting the troops out of Iraq. He kept avoiding the question.

Finally, he said that ‘all’ (ALL) the dems felt that since the troops are already there even though they didn’t think they should have been there – that they would have no choice but to finish the job. He then went on to assert that jush having control of the house didn’t mean they’d have the power to actually DO anything.

HUH????

I wish I could find that interview on the internet – but I only heard part of it and don’t even know what show it was on … so they are already backpeddlin and setting it up to blame their lack of real power as why they won’t fulfill their pledges.
