U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan has agreed to mediate in efforts for the release of two abducted Israeli soldiers after requests from both Hezbollah and Israel, Annan's spokesman said Monday.
I wonder how that will work out? How shafted will the Israeli's be? Kofi has made it clear in the past that he cares little for Israel. Remember the map flap?
What is there to be negotiated? Was that not part of the cease fire, that they be released. Not returned, mind you, but released?
I just wonder if the mediation will be better then how Kofi did with Iran

Yup, because that is the way you deal with terrorists and terror supporting nations. Placate them and warn other countries to be reasonable. In case Kofi missed it, there have been negotiations for years, with zero progress.
I'm surprised that Kofi and the U.N. do not want sanctions on Iran. The ones on Iraq made lots of U.N. folks lots of money.
