EU Dastardly On Civil Rights

I haven’t noticed any liberals being upset about this:

European Union nations will have to start issuing new secure biometric passports with a chip containing facial features by the end of August, EU officials said Thursday, and prepare to add fingerprint data to the travel documents by 2009.

If Bush pushed this, the Left would be foaming at the mouth. The ACLU would be threatening, then certainly filing, lawsuits. The international community would decry the loss of civil liberties in the USA.

Yet, when the EU requires this information in passports, the frogs in the backyard pond are louder. They’re also probably having more fun, being mating season and all, but, I digress.

Or, considering how hypocritical the Left is in who they attack, maybe I’m not digressing.
