Beyond Moonbat Exposed

Captain Ed follows up on a piece from the Washington Post on the Barking Moonbats of Al Gore’s Internet(s), and, while I expected bad after reading Ed’s article, I was highly surprised that that much moonbattery managed to get by the Post’s upper staff.

Ed refers to it as the “fever swamps.” I called it Liberal World. Here’s an example:

“WAKE THE [expletive] UP,” she writes next, and this time, instead of pausing, she keeps going, typing harder and harder on a keyboard that is surrounded by a pack of cigarettes, a dirty ashtray, a can of nonalcoholic beer, an album with photos of her dead father and a taped-up note — staring at her — on which she has scrawled “Why am I/you here?” (emphasis mine)

You have to go back to the beginning of the article to understand

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. — In the angry life of Maryscott O’Connor, the rage begins as soon as she opens her eyes and realizes that her president is still George W. Bush. The sun has yet to rise and her family is asleep, but no matter; as soon as the realization kicks in, O’Connor, 37, is out of bed and heading toward her computer.

What else is there to say but “Yikes!” and “I certainly hope this isn’t anything new to David Finkel, the story author.” I noticed this on day one when I started getting involved with politics on-line back in 2002.

Choice cuts:

  • “I feel like I’m being molested everytime I hear his voice,” one person writes on the Daily Kos Web site while watching a Bush news conference.
  • “Rage, rage against the Lying of the Right” is the subtitle of O’Connor’s Web site.
  • “I’m insane with rage and grief. “But I also feel more connected than I ever have.”

Enough. No point going for the tape measure tater, you know the rest.

I have to ask: how many Right-O-Sphere blogs do people know that have such rage in their tag lines? Look at mine: it is meant strictly to be humorous. Switch to the Journalized theme. Even the “Powered By Pure Evil. Oh, and WordPress” is humor, especially if you have ever watched The Kids In The Hall.

Look at Captain Ed’s: “Thus Every Blogger, In His Kind, Is Bit By Those Who Come Behind.” Mean? Evil? Hatred? Nope. Not a bit. More about sharing, caring, and inclusion.

Sure, there are a few that go down those roads. There is certainly the angry Right. But they are not the mainstream like those mentioned in the article are, as in the mainstream Liberal blogs. The non-fevered, as I have seen, are mostly small fry. Which is too bad.

And, I’ll say it. I do not care for the extremists on the Right. I do not care for Michael Savage nor Mark Levin. Unlike, say, and Ann Coulter or a Sean Hannity, there is no humor, just, at least to me, hatred. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

  1. Glorifying Moonbats…

Unfortunately, what it really does is glorifies the unhinged moonbats on the left. By completely ignoring the fact that there are some well written blogs by liberals, they paint the whole group as Maryscott O’Connor types…
